bnotconformed…..what is that?
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
The one thing in our lives that is constant is change. It is inevitable. The one thing we can control when it comes to change is ourselves. We can’t dictate how or when others should growth or how fast. We can make a decision on whether we will grow and change. Some change is biological i.e., newborn, toddler, preschool, etc. On the other hand, some change is decisional. For example, should I go to that school, party, take this job, etc.
It’s the change that is decisional that can affect our lives forever. The biggest and best decision we can make is to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Once that decision is made, we are then presented with the option to either grow and change or stay the same. One choice we must make is to not fit in with everyone else. Rather the goal is to be changed daily to stand out. In Romans 12:2, it tells us to not be conformed to this world. The word conformed in the Greek means fashion alike, that is conform to, fashion self according to. We are told NOT to fashion ourselves according to this world. Instead we are to be transformed or changed.
After receiving Christ, there will be many opportunities to “conform” to this world. It’s what we know, what we see, what we are used to doing. However, as new creations we are in a constant state of change and growth. Wearing a shirt by bnotconformed serves as a reminder that you were created to be transformed into the image and likeness of Christ. It’s not just a company but a way of living, a reminder that growth and change is constant. Faith is my lifestyle and “I was created to STAND OUT”.
